- The Australian Academy of Science (AAS) has abandoned empirical scientific rigor in favour of advocacy, particularly in relation to climate change and net zero.
- The risks to Australia of a 3°C warmer world (AAS-2021) is a politicised document recycled by activists within its ranks.
- Historical climate variability is ignored in favour of a post-1950s “narrative” that data shows does not exist.
- The policy and bureaucratic machinery surrounding climate legislation is highly centralised, economically destructive and not accountable to the electorate.
Net Zero is scientifically unjustified, economically irrational, democratically illegitimate and should be abandoned. The AAS should lead the way by dumping its support for net-zero.
